You were a tiny seed, implanted in my womb,
Cocooning underneath my heart, emerging in full bloom!
I was the vessel chosen, to harbor your life in mine,
Entrusted I protected, a second heart inside.
Although I was the vessel, from which to life you came,
In giving you a life, a lifelong love I’ve gained.
And underneath my heart, two footprints still remain,
Which remind me of the baby you once were & of the woman you became.
